PEOPLE

Roel Heremans (BE) Belgian artist exploring an experimental medium he notes as ‘3D Radio’. Roel’s works are what he calls ‘Interactive Imaginary Experiences’, that take place in the theatre of the mind, allowing participants to embark on an introspective journey within and outside of themselves with the aid of synchronised audio guides.  Earlier this year Roel and I embarked on a collaborative path, from which the first version of 'Court' was born.

Marit Mikhlepp (EE) Marit is an Estonian artist, working through a fascination with objects and actions of domestic life, and how they can act as a trigger for an experience outside the everyday.  With Marit we spent a week in BAU studios in Amsterdam, where we explored the possibilities of working with the space and simple object with no intention, and getting into the state of a pre-expressive body.

Ludic Collective (intl.) The international performance group Ludic Collective is currently based all around the world, including the UK, Romania and the Netherlands. I was invited to work with them on their current in-development project 'Planet 1', and in return we use their sessions as the first test ground for experiments in my research trajectory.

Átváltozó Egyesület (HU) Átvoltozó Egyesület, which roughly translates to 'Transforming Fellowship' is a Budapest-based group of artists, musicians, makers and teachers, creating experimental games, events and workshops for people of all ages. Their main field of research is using playing as a form of art, education and culture creation. Our background as makers roots in a similar tradition of counter-education through play, and we keep a regular correspondence sharing ideas, knowledge and findings.

Untitled Research Group (prospective) During my residency at CLOUD Den Haag in early-2017, I would like to set up a series of sessions in the Hague-area, to test and experiment with the works the come out of my research. The group would include artists, game designers, dancers, cultural and social workers and educators. The secondary role of this group is to hopefully expand into a lab for experiments through playing, in the longer run.
